Early life & career
Originally from Lagos State, Ireti Osayemi, along with her parents, had lived in Liberia before returning to Nigeria during the Liberian civil war. She completed her elementary education in Lagos, Nigeria’s southern region.
After basic school, she attended Ajumoni Secondary School in Lagos, earning her West African Leaving Certificate. Subsequently, she pursued higher education at Lagos State University in Ojo, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.
Venturing into the Nigerian film industry in 1999, Ireti Osayemi quickly became a familiar face in Nollywood, particularly in Yoruba films. She often shared the screen with acclaimed actors like Funke Akindele, Eniola Badmus, and Odunlade Adekola.
Her debut film, “CASSANOVA,” marked the beginning of her illustrious career, and she has since graced the screens in over 100 Nollywood films. Some of her notable works include “The Return of Jenifa,” “Squad Twenty-threw,” “Tomo Tiya,” “Onfa Ife,” and many more.
Personal life
In 2008, Ireti Osayemi entered into matrimony with Bakky Adeoye, a notable Nollywood movie producer, and together, they have been blessed with two wonderful children.
Their parenting journey began before their official marriage, as they welcomed their first child in 2007. Subsequently, after tying the knot in 2008, the couple celebrated the arrival of their second child in 2009.
Recently, there were rumors circulating about a possible divorce between Ireti Osayemi and Bakky Adeoye. However, the talented actress promptly dismissed these speculations, attributing them to mere gossip and unfounded rumors.
Her husband, Bakky Adeoye, shares her passion for the Nigerian film industry as a movie producer in Nollywood. The couple’s enduring union, which commenced in 2008, remains strong, and their love has been further enriched by the presence of their two lovely children.
