Kemi Nanna Nandap, born on June 3rd, 1966, in Zaria, Kaduna Country, Nigeria, has led a remarkable life dedicated to public service and safeguarding her country’s borders.

Career

From her humble beginnings to reaching the highest echelons of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nandap’s career has been defined by professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. At the age of 58 in 2024, Nandap’s educational journey laid the groundwork for her successful career in law enforcement and border security. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the prestigious University of Ilorin.

Nandap’s extensive career in the NIS spans several decades, marked by exemplary leadership and dedicated service to her country. Following a successful promotion exercise for senior officials in December 2021, she was among the 24 Comptrollers promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration.

Recognized for her stellar performance and leadership qualities, Nandap quickly ascended through the ranks, assuming key leadership positions within the service. In 2022, she took office as the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) Command in Lagos. During her tenure, significant strides were made in combating human trafficking and enhancing security at the airport. Under her leadership, the command intercepted illegal firearms and apprehended individuals involved in illicit activities, showcasing her dedication to maintaining law and order at Nigeria’s busiest airport.

Prior to her role at the Lagos International Airport Command, Nandap served as the Comptroller in charge of the Plateau State Command, leaving a lasting impact on infrastructural and human capital development. Her leadership skills and commitment to excellence were evident in her efforts to enhance the performance and effectiveness of immigration services in the region.

Kemi Nandap’s outstanding performance and track record of success caught the attention of President Bola Tinubu, who approved her appointment as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), effective from March 1, 2024. This prestigious appointment is a testament to Nandap’s leadership skills and unwavering dedication to serving her country.
