Prof Dire Tladi Biography

Dire Tladi works as a professor of international law at the Department of Public Law and the Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa at the University of Pretoria. Additionally, he holds the position of an extraordinary professor at the Public Law Department of the University of Stellenbosch. In the past, he served as the Principal State Law Adviser for International Law for the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation. He also worked as the Legal Counsellor to the South African Mission to the United Nations.

Education

Dire Tladi graduated with top honors, earning his BLC and LLB degree from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He further pursued his education, obtaining an LL.M. from the University of Connecticut in the USA and a LLD (International law) from Erasmus University in the Netherlands.

Currently, he holds the role of co-editor-in-chief for the South African Yearbook of International Law. His involvement in academic publications extends to serving on the editorial board for the Pretoria University Law Press (PULP) journal Constitutional Court Review. Additionally, he plays a role on the editorial board of the Journal of Practice of International Courts and Tribunals.
